3rd September 2013

Micro wind farm to be up and running by October

Work is to start on the city's first urban wind farm the project is due to be fully operational October 2013. The site as been cleared ready for constructing the foundations for a total of six HY5 variable pitch axis turbines. Once installed the micro wind farm should produce between 32,500kwh and 50,748kwh per year based from current 2 years of records for this area. In ideal wind conditions the site could reach around 78.800kwh per year.

After the first fully operational year we should be able to show actual generation figures to see how these compare with the estimated figures shown above.

Picture shows a HY5 variable pitch axis turbines identitical to the six to be installed on the Priory Park site.
